After Gateway Employment Qualifications

Individuals wishing to be considered for employment as a habilitative technician/direct care worker at After Gateway must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have the ability to read and write in English; and understand and follow directions in English.
  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma and/or advanced training certification (nurse's aide, home health aide, or equivalent).
  • Must have proof of current CPR/First Aid training completed with a recognized national training agency.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must have no history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children or vulnerable adults.
  • Must be tuberculosis-free and free from communicable diseases.
  • Must have experience in caring for impaired adults.

All persons applying for employment at After Gateway are required to fill out an application for employment, provide three references, and submit to a background check, a health care registry check, Medicaid fraud search, and a driving record check. In addition, prospective employees must have a physical exam conducted by a licensed physician, or provide documentation of such, that indicates the general physical and mental health of the employee. All new employees must show proof of current CPR and First Aid by a recognized national agency.

All new employees must provide a copy of high school or college diploma, copies of certifications and training, if germane to the position, and copies of medical licenses, if any.

No persons who are related to participants or other employees will be considered for employment.
All new employees receive orientation training.
