After
Gateway is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving
adults with severe disabilities. Our adult day program provides
recreational, vocational, and community inclusion opportunities
for students who have completed their public school years.
Because
many of our young adults have multiple, severe disabilities,
they do not have the same options available to other public
school graduates. Most of the programs available for adults
with disabilities do not provide personal assistance with
daily living needs, such as feeding, toileting, and medical
treatments. All of those services are provided at After Gateway.
Young disabled adults who may be unemployable in many settings,
who are wheelchair bound, who need more assistance, or who
have multitude disabilities are the clients best served at
After Gateway. These young people do not belong in nursing
home which may often be their only alternative. They belong
at After Gateway building their futures! After Gateway has
a history of providing:
- Pleasant, well staffed facility
- Establishing and accomplishing individual goals
- Physical activity indoors and out
- Meaningful, individualized work
- Art and music opportunities
- Community & Parent involvement
- Nursing Staff
